For Arthur Russell Fans | Check out Henri Texier (He is just as beautiful)

Henri Texier is a French jazz double bassist born in Paris, perhaps best-known for his 1960s work with Don Cherry and for his 1980s band the "Transatlantik Quartet", which featured Joe Lovano, Steve Swallow and Aldo Romano. He also worked with several other American musicians in Paris jazz clubs, including Johnny Griffin, Phil Woods, Bill Coleman and Bud Powell.

Texier is a self-taught jazz bassist, crediting Wilbur Ware most as an influence. Throughout the 1970s Texier remained active in Europe on the jazz scene, performing with musicians such as Gordon Beck, John Abercrombie and Didier Lockwood, among others. In 1982 he formed a quartet with Louis Sclavis and others.

The Solitary Arts is a skateboard company started by Geoff McFetridge & Yong-Ki Chang. For a $1 and a self addressed stamped envelope, they'll send you some stickers. For $2 and a self-addressed stamped envelope, they'll send you their newspaper. For everything else, whether you skate or collect artsy stuff, buying their stuff is probably a good investment.

David Weeks Sample Sale December 4 + 5 = Tonight

David Weeks is furniture designer who also makes heirloom toys. His studio is in the same building as us. They're having a sample sale today from noon - 9pm and tomorrow from noon - 6pm. I will be there tonight, after 6, when they offer cocktails.  Below are some examples of his stuff. *Note* I'm not sure if any of this is actually part of the sale. Though it might be.
