Hummus Place

With locations scattered throughout the city the Hummus Place is a restaurant that specializes in dare I say, hummus. The hummus is prepared in their special imported Tahini (which can be purchased to go) and all plates, that range from the Hummus Fava (whole fava beans stew, tahini, egg, olive oil and spices) to the plain and simple Hummus Tahini (Tahini, olive oil and spices) are served with pita bread and a pickle.  In addition there's toppings (egg, olive oil, roastedpine nuts), wine, beer, Turkish coffees and traditional Middle Eastern sides.

James

James is the restaurant of husband and wife team Bryan Calvert (Chef Owner) and Deborah Williamson (Owner Manager), who also happen to live upstairs and grow the restaurant's herbs on the roof of the adjacent building. Before opening James, who many consider to be the best restaurant in the neighborhood, Calvert worked as the personal chef for Annie Leibovitz and Susan Sontag at the couple's upstate retreat.

Jamon Serrano

Jamón serrano (literally mountain ham) is a type of dry-cured Spanish ham, which is generally served raw in thin slices, similar to the Italian prosciutto crudo.

Fresh hams are trimmed and cleaned, then stacked and covered with salt for about two weeks in order to draw off excess moisture and preserve the meat from spoiling. The salt is then washed off and the hams are hung to dry for about six months.

Jasper Hill

Jasper Hill is a small family farm located in Greensboro, the heart of Vermont’s beautiful Northeast Kingdom. We took on Jasper Hill Farm, which had fallen into dereliction like so many throughout Vermont, in the summer of 1998. Greensboro lost five dairy farms that year, a blow to the working landscape that beautifies this part of the world. We struggled to come up with an alternative production model capable of sustaining us, and the land.

John's Pizzeria

John's Pizzeria originally opened its doors in the late Twenties. Since then, it has become world-renowned and a legendary institution in New York City - a place where generations of New Yorkers and tourists alike have come to enjoy the finest pizza the city has to offer. When the search was on to find a location as unique as the pizza itself, the newest John's in Times Square, in which patrons eat their pizza under a five-story stained glass cupola of what was once the Gospel Tabernacle Church, was born.

"Burger purists have a historical cast of mind. They’re always walking around with a patriotic and antiquarian bent thinking about old-time, classic hamburgers, like the kind that was eaten by Wimpy and Jughead. Burger purists aren’t really fit to live in this world. There’s a kind of poetic idealism to them and a sense of innocence that was lost by the American Adam."
