Citarella

A destination for the discerning, Citarella is regarded as a top food mecca in New York City and the Hamptons.

Mike Citarella created Citarella in 1912 on Broadway & 164th Street in Harlem’s Sugar Hill section of New York. A jewel of a store where fish was piled high on marble slabs, sawdust scattered the floor and dedicated employees were quick to help customers.

Golden Krust

Golden Krust is a restaurant franchise started in the Bronx by Jamaican born Lowell Hawthrone, who based the restaurant on his favorite recipes from home. The restaurant is primarily known for their 9 varieties of Jamaican Patties (incl. veggie patties), however they do offer a traditional Jamaican menu that features curried goat, jerk chicken and ackee fruit and more.

Hue Man Bookstore & Cafe

Hue Man Bookstore and Cafe in Harlem has become one of the largest and best-known African American bookstores in the country.

The store currently holds over 24,000 titles that specialize in African American authors and cultural arts.  The store features an excellent children's section, a full service cafe, and in-store events that have included Bill Clinton, John Haggins and William Strickland.  Hue Man also provides "Green" incentives, offering to plant a tree for every book you purchase for just a dollar.

National Action Network

The Rev Al Sharpton and a group of political and human rights activists in New York founded the National Action Network (NAN) in early 1991.

NAN fights to empower people by providing extensive voter education, services aiding the poor, supporting economically small community businesses, confronting racism and violation of civil and human rights.

Riverside Park

Riverside Park is Manhattan's most spectacular waterfront park, stretching four miles from 72nd to 158th Streets along the Hudson River. Since 1875, the landscapes of Frederick Law Olmsted have offered escape from the city and opportunities for people of all incomes to relax, play and socialize in tranquil settings. His design for Riverside Drive made it is one of the most beautiful boulevards in the world, affording views of the Hudson River along its serpentine route.

Sylvia's

Sylvia's Restaurant of Harlem is a soul food restaurant in New York City that was founded in 1962 by Sylvia Woods. It has since expanded to a much larger space at 328 Lenox Avenue (Lenox and 127th Street), in an adjacent building.

The restaurant also sells a line of prepared foods, beauty and skin care items, cookbooks, and a children's book written by Woods.
