Places in Williamsburg

McCarren Park

McCarren Park is a public park located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.  It is bordered by Nassau Avenue, Bayard Street, Lorimer Street and North 12th Street. It is operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

The park is a popular destination for recreational softball, volleyball, soccer, handball, and other games. It is also used for sunbathing and dog-walking. In late 2004, the park's track was resurfaced and has been a popular destination for running enthusiasts.

Pâtés et Traditions

Chef-owner Lorenzo Gantonio has plied his wares in European hot spots like Nice, Morocco and Monte Carlo. Now he's set up shop on an unassuming corner in south Williamsburg, and he couldn't be more enthusiastic. After moving stateside in mid-2008, Lorenzo unabashedly "loves New York. I love New York!" and so he decided to open a permanent Gotham home for serving up crepes and light Mediterranean fare.

Peter Luger Steakhouse

Peter Luger Steak House has been serving the finest steaks since 1887. We choose from only the finest USDA PRIME meat available. The selection process is crucial  and therefore is done only by members of the family who visit the wholesale markets on a daily basis. It begins with fresh sides of beef that usually come from the Midwest. The section of beef used is called the short loin. Only those cattle graded PRIME by the United States Agriculture Department are even considered. It is then important to examine the color, fat conformation and bones.

Tai Thai

Tai Thai is a restaurant on Bedford Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that offers standard Thai food at insanely cheap prices. Loosely described by the Village Voice as one of the better Thai spots in the neighborhood, the most notable aspect of the restaurant is not quite their food but rather their weird choice of decorations and even weirder background music.

Zebulon

Zebulon is a cafe and concert venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn run and staffed by musicians from around the world.  There's never a cover and the live music is often on the ethnic side. The place has a somewhat bohemian, old-school, left bank vibe or maybe it's more of a modern day Fez-type joint. Either way, it's a cool spot. Their menu features small plates like paninis, cheeses, pates, sausages and salads.
