EAST VILLAGE RADIO (EVR) broadcasts free streaming Internet radio 24 hours a day from our street-level DJ booth at the corner of 1st Avenue and 1st Street in the heart of the East Village. EVR began in June 2003 as a small backroom collective serving the East Village music scene, and has now evolved into one of the most progressive and independent online forums for music, art, and culture.

Listeners from around the world tune in to over 120 regular DJs and hosts spinning over 16 hours of live programming every day.  We broadcast the best music in almost every genre and style, as well as sharp, thought-provoking commentary on the latest sounds, trends and news from around the world.

EVR's street-level presence in the East Village connects us directly to the pulse of New York City and provides an invaluable platform for musicians and artists from around the world.  At a time when media consolidation and corporate branding have made the AM and FM dials as blandly homogenized as a shopping mall food court, EVR champions the DIY spirit and local perspective that first made radio great.

EVR continues to play an important role in the community by hosting many of the local DJs, producing live music festivals that highlight the best new bands to hail from or pass through New York City, and promoting the local music scene with announcements on area shows, tour dates, new releases, and live show picks.

Listen live to EVR and tap directly into the heart of the East Village, one of the most significant and diverse cultural hubs in the world.
