Moderne formed in Tours, France. The band consisted of: Gérard Lévy, Thierry Teyssou, Bernard Guimond, Dominique Marchetti and their videographer Patrick Millerioux. In 1980, they released their first self titled LP and in 1981, they released their second LP entitled "L'Espionne Aimait La Musique".
They also released two 7"s comprised of songs from those LPs. After 1981, nothing was heard from Moderne and aside for "Switch on Bach" (released on the compilation "So Young But So Cold" in 2004), very little has been heard from this band. Moderne remains notoriously hidden in the past, and their albums and singles have become collectors' items.
Finally in 2009, all their songs have been remastered from the original reels and released as a gatefold double LP with a full interview and photographs of the band.
