The Thing

1001 Manhattan Ave.
(between Huron St & Green St)
Brooklyn, NY 11222
(718) 349-8234

The Thing is a Greenpoint thrift shop (in)famous for having the Largest Used Record Selection in NYC.

"If you love crate digging, you MUST come here. This place is the epitome of it. There are hundreds of thousands of records in the basement and I often stay around 6 hours to leave with a sizable crate of records. You can find almost anything and everything here, so don't come expecting to see a certain record, but your efforts will undoubtedly be rewarded.

All records are $2, but the more you buy, the cheaper each record gets. They can get down to around $1.50 if you buy around 100!

THIS PLACE IS LEGENDARY AMONGST VINYL HEADS FOR A REASON!"

Bad Employees Ruining a Great Shop

1

This place is a great find. Literally truckloads of vinyls downstairs. However, because of the attitude of the employees, I don't think I'll ever step foot in this place again. They were rude, condescending, and smug when I tried to talk nicely and joke with them.
