The Washington Temple Church of God in Christ is a 7000 member Pentecostal church in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. It is said that Al Sharpton gave his first sermon at the church in 1959 at the age of 4.

relocating to Brooklyn
Greeting to you and yours, Im a resident of Las Vegas, NV belonging to the Nevada First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction COGIC under Bishop Hall. I am an active member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ where my pastor is Administrative Asst. Supt. Bill McDonnell. I will be leaving my hometown of Vegas to Brooklyn in Febuary of 2012 and I will be in search of a C.O.G.I.C. body to worship and to work onto the glory of God. I will make my way out to your service upon my arrival in New York to get a fill for the service. I ask that you continue to pray for me as I hear for God's voice in these last and evil days. Thanks

What is it now??
Did anyone pick up Bishop Washington's Mantle and continue doing even greater works than he...as did Elisha, Elijah's mantle? I pray for this house that God would ignite the flames of revival and cause this smoking flax to burn brighter in its latter days than in its former days. Let all the generations represented in this church rise up and cry out in a desperate hunger for the power and demonstration of God that Bishop Washington, Madam Washington, Catherine Brown, and many of the pioneers of this church knew so intimately!!! Let the smell of fresh bread permiate through Brooklyn's streets and capture the hungry's attention, drawing to this great house. Fresh bread!! Not stale dogma or religion rhetoric, but bread sent from heaven!!! Bless this church, restore and revive it again, In Jesus Name, Amen!!
